An award-winning carver at various Northeast woodcarving shows and at the Ward World Wildfowl Carving Championships, Hilaire began carving in 2008 and is an active member of the Mystic Woodcarvers and the New England Woodcarvers. In addition, he carves at the Westerly, R.I., Sr. Center and at Saint Edmunds retreat on Enders Island, Mystic, Conn. His main interest is in carving and painting songbirds and waterfowl.
